How to Decorate Very Tall Walls

In many homes, especially older ones or condos designed to look avante-garde there are shifting ceiling heights including rooms with walls that are awkwardly tall. This makes it difficult to make a room look intimate or cozy. Fortunately there are some tricks you can use to try and make the space seem cozier.

If you have a tall all one choice you have is to use taller décor to help play up how majestic the height is. Tall walls look beautiful augmented with real or artificial tall trees, bamboo sticks and reeds. You can also build a tall self-sufficient water that does not have much of a pool to help decorate this part of an apartment.

Another great use of a tall wall is to use it as a wall to display vintage and heirloom antiques. You can also opt for open shelving and stand back from a distance to see it all displayed. By choosing the right shelving you can also follow the unique line of the wall by cutting the shelves a certain way.

If the windows are really tall you may have to use extra tall curtain treatments to get rid of the sense that room is not that private. Tall sheers can do a lot for softening the harshness of the light that can be caused by windows that are too big and too tall.

In general color can do a lot to trick the eye into making the ceiling feel lower. Light weight fabrics and simple window treatments can help make the place look nicer.

Painting a room a darker color and extending it to the ceiling can also help a room seem smaller.

Linking up a number of bookshelves against the wall can help bring the height of any very tall wall visually. The clutter of the bookshelf makes the whole room seem shorter.

Yet another tactic is to buy very large artwork that can cover the area. If one large art work cannot be found then consider covering the area with a mural. Covering the wall with several large works can also help camouflage an extremely high wall.

Finally, you can try adding a beam that crosses the wall to help the room look smaller. Add several beams for a lovely effect that helps foreshorten the ceiling. A room with low beams and an extra large fireplace with a huge mantelpiec3e can make a large room look a lot smaller.

Decorating Flip Flops is a fun party activity. It is a craft that is as fun for a party of bridesmaids as it is a party of five year olds. All you need is a pair of flip flops in a solid color, ribbons or markets and your imagination and you are ready to go.

If gathering all of the materials seems like a big chore to you then you can get several kits for making them. The company Noodle Head makes a kit for little kids and a second kit for teens. Alex Toys also makes a kit called Flip ‘Em Flops that have soles and seven pairs of ribbons. This means you can wear a different color ribbon on your flip flops every week. This is expensive and not as fun and personal as decorating your flip flops.

There are many ways to put a personal touch on flip flops including creatively writing your name on them, crawing flowers on them adding stars and using a marker to draw swirls, polka dots and other shapes.

Graffiti decorated flip flops also look nice. You can write any message you want on them. Don’t forget to write messages on the soles of your feet for extra effect. That way when you are sitting cross legged others can read your messages.

There are all kinds of nice items that can be used for decorations. You can roll thongs in glue and then roll them in tiny glitter and sequins. You can glue on larger sequ3enx and flat gems toms. You can also get special waterproof glue that allows you to wear these decorated flip-flops in the water.

You can also fix great big flowers, buckles, buttons and anything shiny to the flip flops to give them a nice look. Big flowers are easy twine on flip flops. In fact if you have a selection of fake flowers on hand you can customize your thongs to suit just about every outfit.

If you are really ambitious you can even make your own flip flops. All you need is a chunky foam for the base of the flip flops and fabric strips that will be threaded through holes that you poke in the soles. Then all you need is a hot glue gun and paints to decorate your flip flops. This is a simple craft but be forewarned that they do not last as long as the ones that you buy in the store.
